There's little to no information about the side effects or main ingredients, the harm they may cause or any of the science behind how these products are supposed to work. They are instead, flogged in glossy paid adverts by celebrities and influencers with no expertise or authority in nutrition/medicine/biology. Quick-fix weight loss is never the answer and the risks far outweigh the benefits. If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is. Celebrities who promote and endorse weight loss aids for payment, do so because brands have realised how influential their posts are with young people. As reported by the BBC, top doctors are now asking that celebrity ads for diet aids be banned by social media companies. Powder over the internet cant make you look like a celebrity who has a personal trainer, a chef, a surgeon and who uses photoshop. This is false and irresponsible advertising and it is part of a pervasive and disturbing rhetoric that preys upon eating disordered behaviour and the new trend of “quick fix” that relies upon a naive and vulnerable customer who is not educated as to the full list of health implications these products and diet restrictions can bring. Show yourself some love and attention! ❤️ Our suggested #Day27 activity of the #selflovechallenge: Treat yourself to homemade chocolates! 😁 Celebrate your wins and your accomplishments with a special treat today. Homemade chocolate is quick and easy to make and does not contain preservatives. This is a fun family activity too! You can experiment with different flavours and molds. We chose heart molds in honour of self-love month. ❤ Here's a simple recipe to get you started. We chose organic products when possible. INGREDIENTS 1 cup Cacao Butter 1 cup Cacao Powder 1/2 cup Honey 1 tsp Pure Vanilla Extract Optional: hazelnuts, almonds, shredded unsweetened coconut, peanut butter or other desired ingredients EQUIPMENT Double broiler and stove, Chocolate molds (we used Trudeau silicone molds), measuring cups, spoon, spatula, wooden spoon, 3 plates, 2-3 bowls (depending on the number of chocolate variations). . **Makes approximately 66 chocolate hearts.** . 1. Use a double broiler to melt the cacao butter. (Adult supervision required!) First, put approximately 1.5 inches of water in the bottom pot and bring the water to a boil. Then reduce the temperature to medium heat and place the top pot of the double broiler onto the bottom pot. Place the butter in the top pot and stir until the butter is completely melted. 2. Add the cacao powder to the top pot and mix until combined. Remove from heat. 3. Add the vanilla to the mixture. 4. Let the mixture sit until it starts to thicken. Add the honey. 5. If you want to make different chocolate combinations, you can pour some of the chocolate into a bowl and stir in your ingredient of choice, such as peanut butter. We made these combinations: Chocolate peanut butter, chocolate coconut, chocolate almond, and chocolate hazelnut. Depending on the depth of your molds, you may need to chop your nuts. 6. Pour your chocolate mixture into your molds. Place each mold onto a flat plate and put it in the freezer for twenty minutes or until firm. *************** #selflove #tween #teen #homemadechocolate

In the privacy of your bathroom, stand naked in front of your mirror and apply lotion to your body from head to toe. Vary the pressure as you apply the lotion (e.g. softly use your fingertips, and then use your whole hand with increased pressure). Take your time and be aware of the different sensations you experience. This exercise allows you to become more in tune with your own body and to discover what you like. Over time, as you continue to repeat this exercise, you become more comfortable in your own skin. By doing this in front of the mirror, you are also learning how to become comfortable naked alone without rushing to grab your towel and cover up.
