Friends, for the months of April and May I have been selling copies of WANDER-THRUSH as promotion to raise money for the Northeast Wilderness Trust @newildernesstrust. This fundraising project to help protect the Eagle Mountain Wilderness Preserve in the northern Adirondacks will culminate in a presentation and reading @northshiresaratoga in Saratoga Springs on Friday, June 14 at 7 PM.
Ps. Not even half way through this promotion and already 29 book orders for $522 in proceeds and donations!
Joining me that night is Tyler Socash @tylerhikes, an Old Forge native and wilderness advocate, who currently serves as the @adkmtnclub Outdoor Skills Coordinator. A couple years back Tyler embarked on a 7,000-mile thru-hiking journey across the Pacific Crest Trail, Te Araroa in New Zealand, and the Appalachian Trail.
The June 14 event is titled, "Confluence: Presence, Wilderness, Place.” Tyler will speak of the importance of wild spaces and his recent opportunity to join Chulengo Expeditions through their Visiting Artists and Activists Program to explore Patagonia's newest National Parks. And I will close out the evening reading excerpts from WANDER-THRUSH, specifically a piece on Presence, (dis)connecting to place, and wilderness.
If you are in / or can get to the Saratoga Springs area this weekend, you should join us!
And reach out if you would like a copy of WANDER-THRUSH.
