Kauai // day 8.
We rounded out the day with a six-mile hike that ended with this spectacular Nā Pali Coast view.
It was about 1,800 feet of elevation gain (mostly on the way back) through dense forests. We got a fairly late start – around 3p or so – so the trail was quiet. We saw maybe 15 people, including two at the overlook waiting for sunset... who were from Minneapolis! So random!
Nick really wanted to walk out to the edge, but I’m a big wimp and wouldn’t let him. Who can blame me?! It’s basically a two-foot ledge and 2,500 feet straight down, and he’s my husband and I can’t even think about that 😮 (If you click the location tag you can see all the folks who are fearless / bigger risk takers than me / are willing to do anything for an insta pic?!). Would you do it?
Anyway, wild to think that just the week before we were looking at this same coastline from the catamaran on the ocean 💙
