I’ve always had a bit of a love hate relationship with doing conditioning. Possibly cos there’s no getting away from the fact that it sucks but equally there’s something special about being able to embrace that suck when you’re in the middle of all the carnage. _ So apart from the suffering there are few benefits that I like and that’s why I will still do and program them for certain clients. These include, building a high level of fitness in a short space of time, building mental toughness, teaching you how to pace as your efforts should be repeatable and sustainable and you can get specific with overloading/targeting certain movements/muscle groups that you’ve already been training that day. _ Today’s circuit: 3x2rounds 10cal Airbike 10 Double DB Snatches 10 Push Ups 1min rest between sets. _ Give it a go and see how you get on. Maintain the same RPM on the bike and aim to go unbroken on the DB Snatches and Push Ups. 🧘🏻‍♂️ OVERCOMING GYM ANXIETY 🤸🏻‍♂️ . . . The gym can be an intimidating place to those that are trying to start working out and can also be another reason you keep putting off going to the gym. I used to hate going to new gyms because I always felt like i was being judged or that I would do something wrong and people would make fun of me. I also was afraid that I wouldn’t know how to use equipment properly or have terrible form when performing new exercises or that I would look out of shape! I promise, No one at the gym is judging you. Most people are honesty going through the same feelings as you, especially beginners, so you’re definitely not alone. It’s like the first day of high school, very intimidating, you’re scared of the upperclassmen but also look up to them, you don’t want to do anything stupid and so you just refuse to communicate or exert yourself into certain situations. In high school, we didn’t have a choice, we just had to get through it. And we did! All you have to do is prepare yourself mentally, know that there are going to be tons of people thinking the same thing you are. If you don’t know how to do something, ask! don’t be afraid! People are there to help! still afraid? do research before you start. Learn different movements and Go in with a game plan and small goals! start off with small tasks, like walking on the treadmill or stretching. Scope everything out and get a feel for it (which can be another goal). This way, the more goals you achieve, the more confidence you’ll build through time to be less anxious in the gym. Remember that going to the gym is not only a physical task, but also a mental one. The best way to do it is to just dive in! And again, ask questions! Why is it that the minute we make the decision to diet we crave ALL the food? .... no one else? Just me? Well. I feel this way SO MUCH. I’ll have a bad day and get off track and think “okay tomorrow get to it” and then I put a lot of pressure on myself to eat 100000% clean? Stop. You stop. I stop. We need to focus on eating *healthy* I have an appointment in 2 weeks to order my wedding dress and it’s been a weeeird thing for me mentally. I feel like I need to magically lose a bunch of weight - but why? I’ve been happy with where I’m at. So instead of throwing out “bad” food and buy a whole bunch of “good” food, I just stocked up on fruits and veggies and am going to eat *healthy* as much as I can. Don’t put pressure on yourself! Think of food as fuel and as a tool that you can use to get yourself when you want to be.

It’s not about how hard you fall down, it’s about how you get back up. I’m gonna be honest and say I’ve been slacking very hard on the gym and my diet. I’m happy to say that I have successfully hit the gym today after at least a month of no gym and poor eating. I’m going to be hitting the gym a lot more and I have this post to look back on and remember not to fall off the horse. I had a great push day with a coworker and tomorrow is legs. I hope everyone has a great day and remembers it’s not too late to get started or to get back in the gym 💪🏽🏋🏽‍♂️
