READ, ENJOY, LEARN (PART 1)
Buyer: Hey, look what I got for us!
Stay-Home Consumer: Oh! A pc?
Buyer: Yes! It's a such a versatile machine!!! SHConsumer: Well, how much did it go for?
Buyer: It's actually worth 320$, but the seller is a very good old friend, after being briefed of our new business and achievements, he decide it's a great idea he adds his bit, so he gave me this at a whooping 100$!!!
SHConsumer: Well . . This thing's actually worth only 105$ last time I checked, so he's basically done nothing, maybe it's getting old on their display shelf.
Buyer: Are you serious? Now I can't believe Duke's tricked me to believe he's done me some good (then pulls out his phone, launches his browser only to see that the pc is actually 305$ from the manufacturer). 305$ from the manufacturer's! 320 at the retailer, but he freakin' gave it away for a freakin' 100$ as a gesture of kindness based on old relationship, yet there's someone at the entire end of the funnel waiting to water every single thing down.
Now, here's what we go through everyday in the world of business, either as sellers or buyers. For sellers, we're either trying to give discounts to new and old customers, or give out a handful at ridiculous rates so that we retain our buyers. Yet it does seem as if we're doing nothing for reasons best known to the buyers. While for buyers, we end up closing this deal and at winding down on the day, this guy comes around telling us how much we've been used and how much of bad buyers we are, which then leaves us gobsmacked, weakened and confused all at the same time.
One of our clients is an international outfit in the Education industry. While every idea we serve may not make sense to them, and may initially not seem to yield, but with time, they've learnt to trust us, because our ideas ends up with results. Now, this didn't just come anyhow, it came as a result of two parties trust and believing that whatsoever side the coin lands on, always ends up making a good story.
Business scholars know too well and will say that the best way to have and maintain a peaceful and meaningful life as a business personnel is to close our minds, eyes and ears..
