Not only did my flight to London take off, but I also managed to get three hours of sleep on the plane! Hooray! By the time I woke up from my red eye, it was 9 AM in London (4 AM in Boston). I took the inter-airport transport to get through customs and passport control, met with my colleagues, and then we were off on a three-hour drive. I probably should have slept in the car ride, but we were all engaging in conversation.
Currently, I am in Cardiff, Wales, and it is so adorable here! It is kind of rainy, but after we checked into the hotel, we walked around to find lunch, found a lot of “arcades” which are essentially little market centers with various food stands and shops, got lunch at Pieminister, and explored more until we found the cutest spot at one of the arcades for tea and coffee.
I’m taking a quick power nap before our dinner with the team I’ve been working and interacting with. I didn’t sleep well on Sunday since I stayed up packing and was afraid I’d miss my flight yesterday morning... lol... if I knew the flight was going to drag me along like some unhealthy relationship, I would have left the airport and slept sooner. Hindsight is 20/20!
