We have grown literally afraid to be poor. We despise anyone who elects to be poor in order to simplify and save his inner life. If he does not join the general scramble and pant with the money-making street, we deem him spiritless and lacking in ambition. You cannot hope to build a better world without improving the individuals. To that end, each of us must work for his own improvement and, at the same time, share a general responsibility for all humanity, our particular duty being to aid those to whom we think we can be most useful.
Do things for people not because of who they are or what they do in return, but because of who you are.The only service to be done for our people, is to give them education to develop their individuality. We must give them ideas, alongside cultivating their living conditions.

For a change, let us acknowledge our blessings. Let us stop complaining. Let us derive happiness from the simpler things in life. .
