👩🏽🚀: Next set o stickers come in next week.
This was the most heartbreaking thing I saw the Aiwan-e-Urdu today afternoon when I went to search for old Hyderabadi Urdu newspapers from the 1940s for research from my upcoming book.
Literally something so precious was left to rot. I'm hoping to do something about this in the coming days. Seeing such precious archival material left to rot (and a ton of other stuff is halfway there) was just unfortunate.
I knew that some of the material would be crumbling, but what I saw was beyond redemption. For those of you who don't know, the Idara-e-Adabiyat was started in 1931 as an Urdu library, and it still is one of the best places to find Urdu literature.
The institution was started by Mohiuddin Quadri Zore, who was the foremost authority on Urdu literature in 1930-31 (during the monarchy of Osman Ali Khan, the last Nizam of the state of Hyd) after completing his PhD in London university. He apparently started an association to bring a literary revolution.
